I've been wrapping up this past wedding season and making the time to enjoy some of what Colorado has to offer. While whizzing along, on my motorcycle, the views along Poudre Canyon included some wonderful fall colors.

Yes... Marcia and I do take time out for fun. We rode up to Poudre Canyon, stopped at the falls. Then, we went over Cameron Pass, past Carter Lake and into Masonville. For a fun end to this really nice ride, we stopped in Boulder at the Drum Shop at Walnut and 30th. I banged on a $6,000+ trap set (which we will NOT be bringing home)

and I Marcia played with the Dejembes (african drums). What a privilege to have such beautiful country to ride through!

It was a gorgeous day for this bride and her family at Shadows Ranch in Georgetown. I felt like I was welcomed as family. That's how much fun and warmth was going around.

and now...words of wisdom.

Today is “Idea Thursday”. Lock yourself away for ten minutes and come up with TWO great ideas. We know you can do it. Here’s how to make it happen:
1. Get isolated
2. Have a pad and pen in front of you
3. Clear your mind of “stuff”
4. Start thinking about your destination” (desired end result or lifestyle)
5. Write down EVERYTHING that comes to you for 10 minutes.
Although this exercise sounds very simple, it works! After sifting through your written list, you will find at least two new ideas. Have fun with “Idea Thursday”!

The Groundhog Action - Pop your head out of the hole and diversify
This weekend as you travel about; make a stop at the magazine counter and buy a magazine about something you know nothing about. Broaden your horizons. Become acquainted with something completely new. Treat yourself to new information about something that might interest you. You never know where it could lead!

I went and did it. My first fling with a new lady. No... I'm not cheating on my wife. She's a Honda Shadow Aero. No name yet, although I do call her gorgeous. We have 1200 miles together so far. She doesn't even mind if Marcia (the real lady) hops on her back for a bit of a runabout. I've spent the pre-wedding season using her to accomplish some real goals like, er, going to Starbucks. She's a blast and she's now part of my wife... I mean life!

Harrison Memorial Animal Hospital's annual fundraiser - Mutts & Models - is the premiere canine and celebrity fashion show. The event took place on April 28th and brought together local celebrities, philanthropists, young professionals, and prancing pooches for a "fur-tastic" evening. Attendees had the opportunity to bid in the live and silent auctions, and came together to raise funds for the animals in need of veterinary care at Harrison Memorial Animal Hospital.

Kicking my parents out of the kitchen and even barricading them in their bedroom until 2:00 AM was the norm growing up in Brooklyn, NY. In 1966 John Lennon made his famous exclamation that the Beatles were more popular than Jesus, the first lunar orbiter was launched, Ronald Reagan was elected governor of California and the television series 'Star Trek' hit the screen for the first time. I didn’t notice. At 13 years old I was already swimming in developer, fixer and stop baths. Feeling around blindly in changing bags to unravel canisters of film and, as clichéd as it is, watching the magic of images appearing on paper under red safelights was an addiction that lasted until the digital coming of age. And then...
