Believe it or not, grooms have to do some choosing too when it comes to deciding what to wear on their wedding day. The groom's attire depends on the event's formality and the time of day when it takes place.

If the wedding is formal and occurs during the day, the groom can wear a tuxedo with tails or a gray stroller jacket. Usually formal daytime weddings take place in the morning. For a formal evening wedding, the best bet is black tie, which means black tuxedos with white pleated shirts, black bow ties, and vests or cummerbunds. For a semi formal daytime wedding, the groom and his party can wear suits--usually dark in color, like black, gray, or navy--with straight collar shirts and either regular ties or four-in-hand ties. If the wedding is taking place in a tropical or warm locale, lighter-colored suits are permissible.

For a semiformal evening wedding, a dark tuxedo with bow tie and cummerbund or vest is appropriate. The groom can also opt to wear a dark suit. Fathers and ring bearers should wear the same attire as the groom and his groomsmen.

A twister lifts the wedding hall into the air. You've spent thousands of dollars to put your event together, and now it's gone--kaput. WEDDING STRESS BUSTERS

No matter where you are in your wedding planning, stress is bound to crop up. Whether it's because your coordinator fired you (I've seen this happen!), the reception hall you booked burned down, or your mom deleted the guest list from your computer, anxiety is part of any big event.

Here are a couple ways you can beat the stress:

Agree not to talk about the wedding for an entire weekend. Tell your friends, parents, and fiance that the topic's off limits until Monday.

Plan a weekend getaway. Do something fun and leave your wedding notebook at home.

Make a list of all the things you need to do and post it on the wall. That way you can see your progress as you cross things off the list.

Tip of the Day: Toasts

Well-wishers will fill your wedding weekend, many of them wanting to toast you and your beloved. Wonderful--just make sure the toasts don't go on too long.
One way to manage the speeches is to split them up between the rehearsal dinner or another gathering and the wedding reception. Let people know when you'd like them to speak and give them a time limit. Another way to keep the toasts rolling is to designate someone as the master of ceremonies. Usually the best man can do this. He'll introduce each toaster and maintain eye contact to keep them on track.
If you're worried people won't toast you, don't be shy about asking people to speak. Do this a few weeks before the wedding so they have time to prepare.

It's funny how sentimental you become when you're planning your wedding. Suddenly issues you didn't think you cared that much about take on added significance. This is true for me many brides when visiting their florist and begin thinking about what flowers they want to carry down the aisle.

Many brides carry the same types of flowers their mothers did on their wedding days. Others choose flowers they find meaningful in relation to the groom. Different flowers have different meanings, so you can create a bouquet that's significant to you:

Red rose--Love
White daisy--Purity
Gardenia--Joy
Lily of the valley--Happiness
Forget-me-not--True Love
Orchid--Beauty

While planning your reception one of the most important things to do is to compile a song list for the DJ (or band leader).

So how do you go about compiling a danceable yet sentimental song list? First, ask your DJ to give you a suggested playlist. Go over it and pick out songs you know you like. Make sure you see your choices for the first dance and the father-daughter dance listed, or add them. Next, brainstorm with your fiance about favorite tunes. Looking over the DJ's playlist will probably inspire you to think of songs you might have overlooked. Finally, make sure the DJ has any songs you've added. If not, you might consider bringing in CDs of those songs if they're very important to you.

Yes... Marcia and I do take time out for fun. We rode up to Poudre Canyon, stopped at the falls. Then, we went over Cameron Pass, past Carter Lake and into Masonville. For a fun end to this really nice ride, we stopped in Boulder at the Drum Shop at Walnut and 30th. I banged on a $6,000+ trap set (which we will NOT be bringing home)

and I Marcia played with the Dejembes (african drums). What a privilege to have such beautiful country to ride through!
